Mechanica design is hardware and process design is software of process industries. While doing process design several mechanical practices and physical realisations are taken in due consideration. The process design comes in realisation after rigorous mechanical design and practice. This begins with process design and collection of data for required mechanical properties. Thereafter mechanical design is more about standardize international codes such as API, ASMEs, IS, BS etc, handbook, thumb-rules and industrial practices. Pipe and nozzle calculations, stress analysis are also very much indispensable. G.A and fabrication drawing, understanding of vendors data, teasting at every stages of fabrication are essence of mechanical design.
Mechanical design course is unique, which discusses all the detailed aspects of mechanical design in a single course such that, Engineers would be able to apply the requirements of the relevant industry standards to the mechanical design of equipments used in the process industry and above ground atmospheric storage and specify appropriate physical property models to simulate processes. It begins by discussing the fundamentals of material selection for process plant applications/simulation & mechanical design of equipments .
Our Mechanical Design, a career oriented course imparts knowlede and practices of intense usage of international standards and codes like ASME, API, IS, TEMA and project specification prescribed by project consultant.
Design, codes and standareds are very much essential and heart of all mechanical design. Moreover Industrial practices and thumb-rules evolved from continuous experties and excellence of mechanical engineers are essence in praxis of innovation. Beside these, selection of equipments, material selection, drawing, fabricational methodology and knowledge of testing are essential requisite skills to be imparted to the budding engineers.
After successful completion of the Course, students can find career growth in Design Consultancy, Equipment manufacturing Companies, Production Units, and Inspection & Testing.
